Today, Rose came home proudly wearing a medal for making honor roll. Gotta celebrate the small things!

Our Adoption Timeline/Family Story

2002: Begin "trying" to conceive

2003 - 2007: Attempt 6 fertility treatment cycles , all fail

June - October 2009: Start Minnesota Waiting List Adoption Training

October 2009: Submit application, including FBI checks

December 2009: Application approved - meet our social worker, Marilyn

March 2010: Home study complete, officially in waiting list

July 2010: First learn about Rosie, meet her social worker, Lydia

October 2010: Gained approval of Lydia, progress to interview with county case worker and a few other people

October 2010: Begin planning out home for a 9-year-old

November 17, 2010: Complete last collateral. Tour Sacred Heart school.

November 18, 2010: Tour Marcy Open School - Agree to be Rosie's Parents!

November 30, 2010: Meet with Rosie & Our Social Worker to Start Transition Planing

December 1, 2010: Rosie's 10th Birthday!

December 28, 2010: Transition plan meeting including grandparents

January 3, 2011: Rosie learns about us

January 4, 2011: We meet Rosie!

January 5, 2011: Dinner with Rosie

January 6-February 5: Lots of phone calls, sleepovers and meetings

February 5: Rosie moves in!

February 7: Rosie tours Marcy Elementary

February 8: Rosie starts school!

June 8: Rosie finishes 4th grade.

June 11: File petition for adoption.

July 19th: Adoption Court Hearing - Adoption is final!!

July 24th: Adoption Celebration
